Pilot Course

Remote Maintenance Pilot Course at the CRN Leganés

In the framework of the European RE-MAIN project, the National Reference Centre of Leganés (CRN) has led the implementation of a pilot course on ‘remote maintenance’, designed to provide vocational training students with key competences for remote industrial maintenance.

Characteristics of the Pilot Course

  • Content: Based on the modules developed during the project, the course addresses topics such as:
    • Secure remote connection and cyber security.
    • Remote monitoring of installations and data acquisition.
    • Remote corrective maintenance.
    • Remote updating of programmes and functionalities.
  • Methodological innovation: The course combines theory and practice through simulations and advanced digital tools, in line with the needs of Industry 4.0.

Results obtained

  • Real practices with ENAIP: Students carried out a practice in collaboration with the Italian partner ENAIP, where they were remotely connected to equipment located in Italy. During the activity, faults were simulated in real time and the students had to identify and solve them using remote diagnostic and maintenance tools. This experience reinforced the students’ technical and practical skills.
  • Academic success: Students integrated the acquired knowledge and applied effective solutions to real scenarios.
  • Positive impact: The experience demonstrated the viability of remote maintenance as a practical and innovative solution for modern industry.

The pilot course has laid the foundations for advanced technical training, aligned with the demands of digital transformation in the industrial sector.
